This was a very difficult year. The number of team heading into the summer was lower than we had hoped. When it became clear that the Football World Cup Final was to be played on July 15th , the day of the Dragon Boat Festival it didn’t help our cause. When there was a chance that England a substantial number of teams withdrew.
Those teams that took part on the day enjoyed themselves and had a great time. Financially it was a bit of a disaster and we were lucky to break even.
This was a good year and we were pleased to donate £13,000 to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA). Each of the organising Rotary Clubs Charity accounts also received £6500, for local causes.
